Support for home security checks, advice and security measures for vulnerable residents

The report will outline the current services available to vulnerable residents of the Borough, specifically the Revival Handy persons scheme. Actions are being undertaken to promote the availability of this scheme and the report will seek Cabinet views on if further subsidy should be considered to fund the home security measures.

Consultation process

Officers have sought views from partner agencies to acertain the reasons why some vulnerable residents do not proceed to take up the current support available. These will be included in the report.

Spend required/saving generated: The report will outline the current subsidised charges that are in place for the handypersons scheme and outline the option for further subsidy of the scheme in the region of £10,000.
