Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976 Driver – Mr AAK Additional documents:
Minutes: The Committee considered a report regarding offences committed by Mr AAK.
Mr AAK was given the opportunity to address the Committee. He was accompanied by a friend but spoke for himself.
Mr AAK stated that he had mistaken the speed limit at the time of the offence and also that he was unaware of the council’s Terms and Conditions in respect of taxi licensing.
Resolved: (i) That Mr AAK’s licence be suspended for a period of one month after which time the licence be allowed to run until the expiry date. During this time Mr AAK was advised to familiarise himself with the Council’s Terms and Conditions in respect of taxi licensing.
(ii) That, when a new application is submitted upon expiry of the above, Mr AAK be invited to attend a meeting of this sub-committee.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976 Driver – Mr DW Additional documents:

The Committee considered a report regarding an application for renewal of a Dual Driver’s Licence by Mr DW.
Mr DW was unable to attend due to personal circumstances. Mr TC attended on his behalf..
Mr TC stated that Mr DW had not been carrying any passengers when the speeding offence occurred and had said that it was due to a lack of concentration. The offence was not reported because Mr DW was unaware of the Council’s guidelines.
Resolved: That the application submitted by Mr DW be deferred until such time that Mr DW can be in attendance to answer questions raised by Committee Members. |

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976 Driver – Mr ND Additional documents:
Minutes: The Committee considered a report regarding an application for renewal of a Dual Driver’s Licence by Mr ND.
Mr ND was given the opportunity to address the Committee.
Mr ND stated that he was not carrying any passengers on the occasions of the two reported offences. The Council was informed of the first offence but was told ‘not to worry’ because it was a non-taxi offence.
The second offence was due to their being no apparent signage referring to the speed limit and Mr ND’s sat nav system was showing the speed limit as 50mph.
Resolved: That Mr ND be issued with a strong written warning as to future conduct and that a condition be added to his Dual Driver’s Licence to include any medical conditions imposed on the DVLA drivers licence.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976 Driver – Mr SC Additional documents:
Minutes: The Committee considered an application for a new Private Hire Vehicle Licence Mr SC.
Mr SC was given the opportunity to address the Committee.
Mr SC had not renewed his licence at the time of expiry due to personal circumstances which had then placed his vehicle outside of the Council’s Policy on the age of vehicles.
The Committee agreed that the circumstances, in this case were exceptional.
Resolved: That, subject to the vehicle passing the Council’s vehicle test, Mr SC be granted a vehicle licence for the period up until the vehicle turned eight years old next year.

Minutes: The Committee considered an application for a new Dual Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence Mr JHJ.
Mr JHJ was given the opportunity to address the Committee. .
Mr JHJ apologised for his mistake
Resolved: That, due to the nature and seriousness of the offence, the Committee saw no reason to depart from its Policy and Guidelines and refused the application. |
