3.

DISCLOSURE OF EXEMPT INFORMATION

To resolve that the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the attached report, because it is likely that there will be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

In the absence of the driver, the Sub-Committee agreed to defer the application to enable the driver a further opportunity to appear at a future meeting.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976 - AMS

The Sub-Committee considered an issue relating to a current Dual Licensed Driver, AMS.  The matter was before the Sub-Committee as the driver had notified the Council of a conviction recently received; it was a requirement of the Code of Conduct attached to the licence that any convictions were notified to the Council in writing within seventy two hours.  

 

After very careful consideration of information from the Council’s Licensing Officer and representations from AMS and his representative, the Sub-Committee agreed as follows:

 

Resolved: that the Dual Driver licence be suspended for a period of 6 weeks and any further offences will require the Driver to appear again before the Sub-Committee.   .

The Sub-Committee considered an issue relating to a current Dual Licensed Driver, IB.  The matter was before the Sub-Committee as the driver had notified the Council of a conviction recently received; it was a requirement of the Code of Conduct attached to the licence that any convictions were notified to the Council in writing within seventy two hours.

8.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976 - ZB

The Sub-Committee considered an application from ZB for a new Dual Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s licence.  The application was considered as a new application as a complete set of renewal documents had not been submitted before the expiry of the previous licence.

 

After very careful consideration of information from the Council’s Licensing Officer and representations from ZB, the Sub-Committee agreed as follows:

 

Resolved: that the application for a Dual Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s licence be granted subject to successful completion of the Newcastle under Lyme Taxi Knowledge Test. 

9.

URGENT BUSINESS

To consider any business which is urgent within the meaning of Section 100(B)4 of the Local Government Act.
