DISCLOSURE OF EXEMPT INFORMATION

To resolve that the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the attached report, because it is likely that there will be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Driver – HOS

The Sub Committee considered an application from HOS for a new Private Hire Vehicle licence.  The application was considered as a new application as a complete set of renewal documents had not been submitted before the expiry of the previous licence.

 

After very careful consideration of information from the Council’s Licensing Officer and representations from HS and his representative, the Sub Committee felt that it could depart from the Policy on this occasion and agreed as follows:

 

RESOLVED: that the application for a new Private Hire Vehicle Licence be approved.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Driver – IK

The Sub-Committee considered a relevant matter notified to the Council in relation to IK, a current holder of a Dual Driver Licence and a Private Hire Vehicle Licence.

 

The Sub-Committee heard from the Council’s Licensing Officer and from IK and his solicitor. 

 

RESOLVED: that the matter be deferred to a future meeting to enable further investigations to be made.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Driver - MB

The-Sub Committee considered an application from MB for a renewal Dual Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s licence.  The application was before the Sub-Committee as the application process revealed a matter that fell within the requirements of the Council’s Licensing Policy.

 

After very careful consideration of information from the Council’s Licensing Officer and representations from MB, the Sub-Committee agreed as follows:

 

RESOLVED: that the application to renew the licence be granted subject to a 6 week suspension commencing from the date of expiry of his previous licence.

In the absence of the driver, the Sub-Committee agreed to defer the application to enable the driver a further opportunity to appear at a future meeting.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

The Sub-Committee considered a renewal application from ZI for a Dual Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence that had revealed matters that fell within the requirements of the Council’s Licensing Policy.

 

After very careful consideration of information from the Council’s Licensing Officer and representatives from ZI and his solicitor the Sub-Committee agreed as follows:

 

RESOLVED: that:

 

(a)  the licence be granted; and

(b)  the driver be issued with a final warning as to future conduct and any further offences will be brought back for consideration by the Sub-Committee.

URGENT BUSINESS

To consider any business which is urgent within the meaning of Section 100(B)4 of the Local Government Act.
