DISCLOSURE OF EXEMPT INFORMATION

To resolve that the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the attached report, because it is likely that there will be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Driver –  Mr AS

The Committee considered a report regarding a relevant conviction received by a current Dual Drivers Licence belonging to Mr AS.

 

The conviction related to the vehicle being unroadworthy.  The vehicle did not belong to the driver but it was his responsibility to keep a check on its condition.

 

Mr AS was given the opportunity to address the Committee and the information was considered by the Members.

 

The driver had already been issued with a final warning at a previous meeting of this Committee.

 

Members also requested that operators who rent out vehicles to drivers be made aware that vehicles must be kept roadworthy.

 

Resolved:     That Mr AS’s Dual Driver’s licence be suspended for a

period of six months.  Should any further offences be committed upon return of the licence within the following six and a half years, Mr AS would be brought back in front of the Committee.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

The Committee considered a report regarding an application for the renewal of a Dual Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence by Mr AH.

 

There had been discrepancies on the application form and the omission of previous convictions which were relevant.

 

Mr AH was given the opportunity to address the Committee and the information was considered by Members.

 

Mr AH had been issued with a final warning at a previous meeting of this Committee.

 

Resolved:     That the application to renew the Dual Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence for Mr AH, be refused.

The Committee considered a report regarding an application for the renewal of a Dual |Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence by Mr WUR.

 

The application form had shown discrepancies and had omitted information which was relevant to the application.

 

Mr WUR was represented by Mr GC who spoke on his behalf.  The information was considered by the Members.

 

Mr WUR had been issued with a final warning at a previous meeting of the Committee.

 

The latest incident was still under investigation.

 

Resolved:     That, as the latest incident was still under investigation, the

application be deferred for four weeks to allow the Committee to make an informed decision.

To consider any business which is urgent within the meaning of Section 100(B)4 of the Local Government Act.
