DISCLOSURE OF EXEMPT INFORMATION

To resolve that the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the attached report, because it is likely that there will be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

Resolved:-                That the public be excluded from the meeting during

consideration if the following matter because it is likely that there will be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1,2 and 7 contained within Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act, 1972

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Driver – Mr DP

The Committee considered an application for a new Private Hire Vehicle  Licence by Mr DP

 

Mr DP’s application would involve a departure from the Council’s Policy and Guidelines.

 

Resolved:     That Mr DP be granted a licence with the condition that plates are used on the vehicle when it is not used for executive airport travel or carrying business class clients.

Resolved:     That the application submitted by Mr AS be deferred to a

future meeting.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Driver – Mr IH

The Committee considered a report regarding offences committed by Mr IH.

 

Mr IH was accompanied by his son and nephew but spoke on his own behalf.

 

Mr IH stated that the speeding offence had occurred in his own vehicle – not a licenced vehicle.    

 

Resolved:     (i)         That, in accordance with the Council’s policy and

guidelines, Mr IH’s Dual Driver’s Licence be revoked.

Resolved:     That the application submitted by Mr IK be deferred to a

The Committee considered an application for a new Dual Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence by Mr MEA

 

Mr MEA was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Mr MEA apologised for his mistakes and gave an explanation for the offences committed.

 

Resolved:     That, due to the nature and seriousness of the offences, the Committee saw no reason to depart from the Council’s Policy and Guidelines and refused Mr MEA’s application.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Driver – Mr YR

The Committee considered a report regarding an application for renewal of a Dual Driver’s Licence by Mr YR.

 

Mr YR was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Mr YR  gave an explanation for the offences committed which were accepted by the Committee

 

Resolved:     That, Mr YR be granted a licence for a period of twelve months.  Subject to there being no further issues during this time, the licence will be extended for a further two years without the requirement for Mr YR to attend a meeting.
