DISCLOSURE OF EXEMPT INFORMATION

To resolve that the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the attached report, because it is likely that there will be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

consideration if the following matter because it is likely that there will be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1,2 and 7 contained within Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act, 1972

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Driver – Mr AM

The Committee considered a report regarding an application for renewal of a Dual Driver’s Licence by Mr AM.

 

Mr AM was given the opportunity to address the Committee. He was accompanied by his wife who spoke on his behalf. 

 

Mr AM stated that he did contact the office but was not made aware that he had to come in to see a Licensing Officer. 

 

When asked – Mr AM stated that he was carrying passengers but it later emerged that he was not – he was on the way to collect them.

 

Resolved:     That the application submitted by Mr AM be approved, together

with a written warning as to his future conduct.  Mr AM was also advised to gain a greater understanding of the Council’s  rules and procedures in respect of Taxi Licensing.

Driver – Mr PWT

The Committee considered a report regarding an application for renewal of a Dual Driver’s Licence by Mr PT

 

Mr PT was given the opportunity to address the Committee.  

 

Mr PT was travelling at three mph over the speed limit at the time of the offence. He was not carrying passengers at the time. He apologised for not informing the Council of the offence within the seven days.

 

Resolved:     That the application submitted by Mr PT be approved, together

with a written warning as to his future conduct.  Mr PT was also advised to gain a greater understanding of the Council’s  rules and procedures in respect of Taxi Licensing.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Driver – Mr SAH

The Committee considered a report regarding an application for renewal of a Dual Driver’s Licence by Mr SAH.

 

Mr SAH was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Mr SAH stated that he did not know that he had hit a stationery vehicle.

 

Resolved:     That the application submitted by Mr SAH be approved for a

period of twelve months, together with a written warning as to his future conduct.  After the twelve month period and subject to no further issues, Mr SAH could apply for a full licence.  Mr AM was also advised to gain a greater understanding of the Council’s  rules and procedures in respect of Taxi Licensing.

Driver – Mr MJ

The Committee considered a report regarding an application for renewal of a Dual Driver’s Licence by Mr MJ.

 

Mr MJ was accompanied by a friend who addressed the Committee.

 

Mr MJ was unaware that his comprehensive policy did not cover him to drive his wife’s vehicle.

 

Resolved:     That, in accordance with the Council’s policy and guidelines,

                        the application submitted by Mr MJ be refused.
