Minutes:

Resolved:     That the following observations be made:

43 High Street, Newcastle 26/00154/FUL

The Working Party has no objections.

Ravenshall Top Farm, Main Road Betley 26/00142/FUL

The Working Party recognised that the scheme that was presented was generally sympathetic to the existing structure albeit a little safe and uninspiring.  It would enable the barns to be retained and give them a new sustainable use.  More information on the parking and landscaping would be beneficial and retention of the existing windows including round windows or reinstatement of these where later unsympathetic alterations had removed them (south elevation). Historic lintels, sills and voussoirs should be retained and repaired.

Graythwaite, 106 Lancaster Road, Newcastle 26/00196/FUL

It was agreed that this building was of significance within the Conservation Area and on a very prominent corner. It had high design quality and the neighbours’ poor-quality roof was not a reason to allow the proposal.  The group was mindful of any appeal decisions and wanted the applicant to explore the use of an artificial slate as a good compromise which would have a higher quality appearance.

Winnington Grange, Mucklestone Road, M. Drayton 26/00072/FUL

The Working Party had no objections to the proposal.

6.
