The Working Party has no objections to the proposal.

41 West Street, Newcastle 25/00773/FUL

The Working Party had no objections to both the rear single storey extension providing that the brickwork matched existing and subject to the rooflights being changed for a conservation style.

The Working Party noted that it was often more important that the quality of the materials reflected the quality of the historic environment to enable a proposal to be acceptable.

The Working Party felt that the rear dormer window was too large and obtrusive in its present form but that if the overall size was reduced and the materials were acceptable such as a standing seam, this might be more appropriate to the CA.

There wasn’t any precedent for such development in this CA and therefore it was important that such changes, if found to be acceptable, set the right example.
