Gate Lodge, Brampton Road, Newcastle    19/00813/FUL & 19/00814/LBC

 

 

 

The Working Party does not object to demolition of the rear extensions and replacement with a more creative space to the rear of the lodge.  This produces an interesting more useable space to the rear but concerns within the group were raised in relation to the new front window and door, the unsympathetic materials to block up the garage with, the lack of detail at the eaves and potential still for problems with the roof junctions.  Some concern was raised in relation to the proposal to remove internal plaster and lack of detail.

To consider any applications for financial assistance from the Conservation and Heritage Fund which may have been brought to this meeting by the officer

Minutes:

Resolved:    The Working Party supports the giving of this grant subject to

the appropriate standard conditions and another to ensure that any glass protection systems are in line with current research to ensure the glass is appropriately protected.

the appropriate standard conditions.
