Additional documents:

Minutes:

Resolved:           That the following observations be made on the applications listed below:-

12 Vicarage Lane, Madeley  18/00560/FUL

The Working Party had no objections.

Pitfield House, Brampton Road, Newcastle 18/00554/FUL

The Working Party would like the plans to be corrected and the scheme amended and brought to the next meeting for consideration.  The Working Party objects to the removal of the historic wall and pier as part of the original house and estate and has concerns about the proximity and damage to the adjacent trees.  The extension will be extremely prominent within the public park, should be simple and subordinate to the main building, any brickwork should match and windows timber as specified.  They have concerns over the privacy issues given the use and suggest that the main window also has a brick plinth to match the gable window.  The lantern light is too large and there are issues over symmetry of the design.  They also object to the toilet window on such a prominent elevation and want clarification on the existing/new gate which is unclear from survey drawings which appear incorrect.

Old Hall, Poolside, Madeley  18/00620/LBC

The Working Party has no objections to the application and would like to ensure that there is careful detailing through consultation with the Conservation Officer.

18/00643/FUL & 18/00644/ADV  9 Hassell Street, Newcastle

The Working Party is very supportive of the scheme, welcomes the detail and reinstatement of materials but would like consideration to be given to the introduction of some glazing bars in the new side windows on the ground floor.  No objections to the signage.

18/00614/FUL  Horwood Energy Centre, Keele University

The main building is very simple given its original use and as such the detail on the new entrance extension is important.  Suggestion that the louvres should be metal rather than timber to give more of an industrial theme as timber alters the aesthetic character of the main building.  The suggestion of signage is within the application but no details are submitted and this should also be approached with simplicity and it will be critical to the overall scheme to get this right.

18/00508/FUL  April Cottage, 3 The Green, Clayton

No objections
