Minutes:

Resolved:           That the following observations be made on the applications listed below:-

Old Springs Hall, Old Springs, Market Drayton 18/00438/FUL 7 18/00453/LBC

The Working Party was concerned about the treatment of the central door in the coach house and questioned the rather domestic design.  The recess should ideally be kept open or be bolder, suggesting that when closed up or unused that timber doors could be installed.  The proposed design of the windows shown on the elevation drawing is not the same as existing despite the fact that the D & A statement says the windows remain unchanged.  This needs clarifying.

The linhay scheme is ok but the Working Party suggests that timber shutters would be preferable on the ground floor when the building was not in use.

Landscaping – the scheme should be more open and any brick walls should match well with the coach house as it feels like the space is overdesigned.

3 Ravenshall Barns, Main Road, Betley 18/00457/FUL &18/00458/LBC

The Working Party felt that the proposal was introducing an inappropriate opening which detracted from the mass of brickwork and suggested a more sympathetic approach would be to have patio doors instead of the existing window.
