Resolved:              That the minutes of the meeting held on 27 April, 2016 be agreed as a correct record.

Disclosure of Exempt Information

To resolve that the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the attached report, because it is likely that there will be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Hackney Carriage Driver – Mr KH

The Committee considered a report regarding the revocation of a Hackney Carriage driver’s licence held by Mr KH.

 

Mr KH was not in attendance during consideration of the item which, due to the serious nature of the matter, was considered in his absence.

 

Resolved:    That the Chief Executive’s decision to revoke Mr KH’s licence with immediate effect be endorsed.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Dual Driver’s Licence – Mr CRJ

The Committee considered a report regarding the revocation of a dual driver’s licence held by Mr CRJ.

 

Mr CRJ was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Resolved:    That the Chief Executive’s decision to revoke Mr CRJ’s licence with immediate effect be endorsed.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Dual Driver’s Licence – Mr MAM

The Committee considered a report regarding the renewal of a dual driver’s licence held by Mr MAM having regard to his recent convictions.

 

Mr MAM was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Resolved:    That, due to the nature of the offences, Mr MAM’s application for renewal of his licence be refused.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Private Hire Driver – Mr AW

Minutes:

The Committee considered a report regarding a complaint made against private hire driver - Mr AW.

 

Mr AW was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Resolved:    That Mr AW be given a formal written warning in respect of his future conduct.

 

8.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Private Hire Driver – Mr ABK

The Committee considered a report regarding a complaint made against Hackney Carriage driver – Mr ABK.

 

Mr ABK was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Resolved:    That Mr ABK’s licence be suspended for a period of three months and that a formal written warning be given in respect of his future behaviour.

Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005. Fixed Penalty Notices

A report was submitted to advise the Committee of action taken in respect of littering offences within the borough and to seek authorisation to institute legal proceedings against the Fixed Penalty Notice holders listed in the Appendix.

 

Resolved:    That legal proceedings be instituted in the relation to the cases

detailed.

A report was submitted to advise the Committee of the action taken in respect of littering offences within the Borough.

 

Resolved:    That the report be received.

 

11.

Hackney Carriage town centre operations pdf icon PDF 54 KB

Minutes:

Consideration was given to a report regarding Hackney Carriage operations in the town centre.

 

Members were advised that a further report in connection with this would be brought to the September meeting and that any issues that have been highlighted to officers by members can be discussed at that meeting.

 

Resolved:    That the report be received.
