DISCLOSURE OF EXEMPT INFORMATION

To resolve that the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the attached report, because it is likely that there will be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

The Sub-Committee considered an application by Mr MKK for a new Dual Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licence. The application was being treated as a new application as the renewal had not been submitted in time.  Under the new Policy adopted by the Council, new applications now included the taking of a Knowledge Test.

 

The applicant gave an explanation of the offences committed which the Sub-Committee accepted.

 

Mr MKK was asked to provide a DVLA check code which he agreed to email to officers following this meeting.

 

Resolved:     (i)         That the licence be granted for a period of nine months,

during which time the applicant must take and pass the Knowledge Test.

           

(ii)        At the end of the nine month period, the applicant to be brought back to this Sub-Committee and, subject to no further outcomes or offences, the licence be extended to the remainder of the three years.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

The Sub-Committee considered an application by Mr MS for the renewal of a Dual Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence. The application had revealed a conviction which fell within the Council’s guidelines for the relevance of convictions.

 

The applicant was represented by Mr GC who spoke on his behalf. Mr MS gave an explanation of the conviction which was accepted by the Sub-Committee.

 

Resolved:     That the application for the renewal of a Dual Hackney

Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence be granted.

The Sub-Committee considered an application by Mr SHI for a new Dual Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence. The application had revealed convictions which fell within the Council’s guidelines for the relevance of convictions.

 

The applicant gave an explanation of the convictions which were accepted by the Sub-Committee.

 

Councillor Heesom had been disconnected part way though this discussion and therefore would not be voting upon the outcome.

 

Resolved:     (i)         That the application for the Dual Hackney

Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence be granted together with a warning for the non-disclosure of an offence and subject to the applicant taking and passing the Knowledge Test within the next nine months.

 

(ii)        That, if any offences or misdemeanors be committed, the licence holder to be brought back to this Sub-Committee immediately for further review.

The Sub-Committee considered an application by Mr TM for a new Dual Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence and an application for the renewal of a Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence. The applications had revealed a conviction which fell within the Council’s guidelines for the relevance of convictions.

 

The applicant gave an explanation of the conviction which was accepted by the Sub-Committee.

 

Resolved:     (i)         That the application for a Dual Hackney Carriage and

Private Hire Driver’s Licence be granted, together with a

warning in respect of an offence committed as outlined in paragraph 1.8 of the agenda report and, subject to the applicant taking and passing the Knowledge Test within the next nine months.

 

(ii)        That the application for a Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence be granted.

 

(iii)       That, if any offences or misdemeanors be committed, the licence holder to be brought back to this Sub-Committee immediately for further review.
