Members received an Event Schedule from Healthwatch Staffordshire listing upcoming events  regarding public consultations during February, 2016.  The Consultations related to the Northern Staffordshire Primary Care Strategic 5 Year Delivery Plan. 

 

The Council’s Member Training and Development Officer was requested to contact Healthwatch to establish the exact dates and to advise the Members.  

 

In addition, Members received a list of projects and consultations which were being carried out.

 

The Community Services project (Phase 1) had already been carried out.  Members requested that they receive a copy of this report and in addition, any future reports on all of the projects as they become available.

 

Other Project that were listed were, Mental Health, Evaluation of Transition of Services, End of Life, CAMHS, My Care, My Way, Home First and Primary Care Strategic Delivery Plan.

 

Members requested that the CAMHS be looked at separately.

 

In addition, Members requested that an presentation on the Complaints Advocacy Service be given at the next meeting of this Committee.

 

Resolved:                        That the information be received and the comments noted.

Members felt that there was not enough information to consider this item effectively.

 

It was agreed that the Schools would be contacted again and the item would be considered at the April meeting.

 

Councillor Loades advised Members about a National Swimming Census that had been carried out.  The Council’s Member Training and Development Officer would investigate this and forward the document to Members.

 

Resolved:    (i)       That the information be received.

                    (ii)      That this item be brought back to the April meeting.

6.

Midway Walk In Centre pdf icon PDF 449 KB

Minutes:

Members were handed a briefing note on the Midway Walk in Centre.  Members were dissatisfied with no one being in attendance from the County Council.  Members agreed that this item be taken to an extra meeting on 11 February.  Questions would be sent to Sarah Blenkinsop in readiness for the meeting.

7.

Better Care Fund

Councillor Loades to give a verbal update on this item.

Minutes:

Councillor Loades briefed Members on the Better Care Fund.  A document that Councillor Loades had would be forwarded to Members who were invited to read the document and forward any comments to himself and/or Councillor Eastwood to be taken back to the County.

Public Question Time

Any member of the public wishing to submit a question must serve two clear days’ notice, in writing, of any such question to the Borough Council.

10.

Any other Business

To consider any business which is urgent within the meaning of Section 100 B(4) of the Local Government Act 1972.

Minutes:

Councillor Mrs Johnson raised concerns that the 111 service was down over the Christmas period.  Members wished to know what contingency plans were in place when this happens?  An email would be sent to the County Council requesting this information.
