Minutes:

The Chair paid tribute to Councillor Ann Heames who passed away last month commenting on her hard work and commitment for this Panel.  A minutes silence was held prior to the commencement of business.

The Panel considered a report advising of Community Chest applications processed to date for 2014/15.

 

Members were advised of two new applications that had been received:

 

·       Marsh Hall Community Centre had requested £800 for replacement tables.

·       Ramsey Road Community Centre had requested £800 for First Aid courses to be run by St John’s Ambulance.

 

 

Resolved:               (i)       That the Panel notes the applications received and

processed to date.

                               (ii)       That the grants for Marsh Hall Community Centre

and Ramsey Road Community Centre be agreed.

(ii)                     Sports Grants

 

Members were advised that as from 1 April, Sports Grants would be added to the remit of this Panel.  A report from the Sports Council Review Group was considered by Members and it was agreed that the grants would only be available for individuals and that they be awarded in the same manner as the Talented Athlete Grant Aid Fund:

 

Gold ‘awards’ for national level and would receive £200

Silver ‘awards’ for regional level and would receive £300

Bronze ‘awards’ for local level and would receive £500

 

Resolved:                    That the information be received.

7.

Urgent Business

To consider any business which is urgent within the meaning of Section 100B (4) of the Local Government Act 1972

Minutes:

(i)             Homelessness Grants

 

Members were advised that a Homelessness Grant had been received but as this meeting date had been brought forward from 30 March, there had been insufficient time.

 

Officers requested that the item be emailed to Members for their information and comments.  Members stated that they fully supported Homelessness Grants and agreed to receive the details of the grant via email.
