Additional documents:

Minutes:

Resolved:-That the following observations be made on the applications listed below:-

The Old Swan, Madeley  17/00821/FUL

The Working Party for consistency have the same comments as per the previous application (16/00730/FUL) in that they have no objections to the scheme subject to the architectural detail around the windows reflecting the original building.

Land to the North of Shelton Boulevard, south of Newport Land and in between Festival Way and A500   17/00834/FUL

The Working Party has no objections to the scheme subject to rationalisation of signage and railings in the area, which is an historic Conservation Area.

Butchers Arms, Church Lane, Audley  17/00827/FUL

No objections

Offley Arms, Poolside, Madeley  17/00798/FUL

No objections.

Maxims, Lower Street, Newcastle  17/00799/LBC & 17/00796/ADV

The Working Party still contests that there is no co-ordination of the signage including typeface and colours over both buildings.  The amendments to the signage proposed on the historic building are an improvement but there are no materials specified.  The historic building and the new building have a high quality design and finish and the signage should also reflect this quality and attention to detail.  The Working Party has concerns over the fascia sign on the front pedestrian entrance as it obscures the brick architectural detail and should be reduced in size.  As a general principle the signs should be timber or metal, not plastic and all fixings should be into the mortar joints.

Gravel Bank, Mucklestone   17/00787/FUL

The Working Party has no objections to the proposal.
