Comments

15/00038/FUL

4 Ironmarket, Newcastle

The Working Party finds the location of the air-con unit acceptable with the addition of a condition which specifies that when the equipment is no longer required it is removed as soon as practicable.  The Working Party strongly objects to the retention of the satellite dish as obtrusive and harmful to the character of the Conservation Area as it could be located on the rear of the property.

15/00075/ADV

75 High Street, Newcastle

The Working Party considers the proposed horizontal strip sign is unsympathetic to the architectural features of the Listed Building and its vertical emphasis.  Individual letters as existing would be more acceptable.

15/00079/OUT

Beehive Cottage, Back Lane Betley

Kingsley, Brampton Road, Newcastle

Land adj to Ravenshall Farm, Main Road, Betley

No objections.

Some concerns over the engineering entrance and the Working Party would like to retain a narrower hedge and have the path behind the hedge, which would soften the edge of the site and improve safety further.

The Working Party feels that the proposed building is should be 2 storey (but not too large) as the existing vernacular with a ridge parallel to the road.  The curved entrance should be retained and parking ideally located to the rear of the property.

5.
