Aldi Superstore, Blackfriars Road, Newcastle.

The Working Party has concerns over fascia Signs No. 1 & 2 as shown on the plan which appear too close together and would object as they may harm the Conservation Area with unnecessary illuminated signs.  The elevation drawing is acceptable.

14/00732/FUL

7 Denbigh Close, Clayton, Newcastle

No objections.

Land to the rear of Grindley Cottage, Betley

The Working Party sees an archaeological assessment as an essential requirement so close to an ancient burial ground to enable a full understanding of this site.  The WP objects to any development on this site and particularly feels that the proposal is of poor design quality and inappropriate for the Conservation Area and harms the setting of the Grade I listed Church.  If any development on this site was considered acceptable, a quality innovative design, fully justified, should be insisted upon.
