Resolved:                 That the minutes of the meeting held on 21 September, 2017 be agreed as a correct record.

The Committee considered a report requesting consideration of proposed taxi and private hire fees prior to consultation.

 

Resolved:     (i)         That the proposed fees be sent out for consultation.

(ii)        That, following consultation, a further report be brought back to this Committee.

To resolve that the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the attached report, because it is likely that there will be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

Mr AK was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Resolved:     That the decision taken by the Council’s Chief Executive,

The Committee considered a report regarding a Private Hire Vehicle Licence application by Mr MK which involved a departure from Council policy.

 

Mr MK was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Resolved:     That a Private Hire Vehicle Licence be granted.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Driver – Mr RA

The Committee considered a report regarding a notification of a conviction by Mr RA and also an allegation that had been made against him in respect of inappropriate behaviour.

 

Mr RA was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Resolved:     That, in view of the nature and seriousness of the offences and the nature and circumstances of the allegation, the Committee, having considered those circumstances and taken into account its policy guidelines concluded that Mr RA was not a fit and proper person to hold a dual drivers licence and, revoked his drivers licence.

The Committee considered a report regarding Mr DW’s recent conviction.

 

Mr DW was not in attendance at the meeting, therefore the matter was considered in his absence.

 

Resolved:     That Mr DW be issued with a written warning as to his future conduct.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

The Committee considered a report regarding a notification of a conviction by Mr JA.

 

Mr JA was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Resolved:     That, in view of the nature and seriousness of the offences,  Mr JA’s dual driver’s licence be suspended for a period of one month and a warning as to his future conduct be given.

The Committee considered a report regarding an application for a new driver application for a Dual Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Drivers Licence by Mr AL.

 

Mr AL was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Resolved:     That in view of the nature and seriousness of the offences

committed, the Committee saw no reason to depart from its policy and having concluded that Mr AL was not a fit and proper person to hold a Dual Driver’s Licence, refused the application.

                        period of twelve months.

Resolved:     (i)         That the application submitted by Mr SB be approved for

a period of twelve months

 

(ii)        That a letter be sent to Mr SB stating the reason for the temporary licence and containing a warning as to his future conduct.

application submitted by Mr AH be approved.
