Disclosure of Exempt Information

To resolve that the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the attached report, because it is likely that there will be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

Resolved: That the minutes of the meeting held on  3 November, 2015 be agreed as a correct record.

Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act - 1976

Private Hire Driver – Report to Follow

Minutes:

The Committee considered a report regarding an application by Mr AM to renew his private hire drivers licence. The applicant had failed to disclose a recent conviction.

 

Mr AM was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Resolved:              That Mr AM receive a formal written warning.

The Committee considered a report regarding a conviction imposed on Mr JN who holds a current valid Private Hire Drivers Licence with this Authority.  Mr JN had also applied for a Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence.

 

Mr JN was given the opportunity to address the Committee.

 

Resolved:               (i)       That Mr JN be given a formal written

warning in respect of the conviction and failure to report it to the Local Authority.

 

(ii)       That the application for a Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence be refused.

 

(iii)      That Officers investigate why a previous licence was issued when there were three points on the applicants driving licence.

19.

Fly Tipping Offence

Minutes:

A report was submitted to advise the Committee of action taken in respect of a fly tipping offence within the Borough and to seek authorisation to institute legal proceedings.

 

Resolved:

 

That subject to review by the legal section, legal proceedings be instituted in relation to the case mentioned in the agenda report.

Urgent Business

To consider any business which is urgent within the meaning of Section 100(B)4 of the Local Government Act.
